Day 3

So today's photograph hit me this morning.  I have a little ritual in the morning.  I get to work a little early and I eat my two pop tarts and do my devotions.  I learned from my father the value of starting out the day in my Bible, and I've been in Proverbs and Ecclesiastics for months.  As I pulled out my Bible I began to think of it's origin:

This Bible has special significance.  It was given to me by my parents at the beginning of my journey to long term sobriety.  As you can see, it looks worn, used, definitely no dust on this Bible.  It has been with me through the highs and the lows and has been a source of wisdom that has helped me on this walk I'm on.  But it's not just about sobriety.  It has helped me in my walk with God, in my marriage as I've sought wisdom, and even at work and play.  It is a guideline, a manual for living that I literally live by.  Which leads me to:

If you focus in you'll see I'm in Proverbs.  I just can't seem to get away from this book!  I go through all 31 chapters and start over.  I write notes in my Bible, and usually some question I have is answered in the reading of the day.  Sometimes I read a whole chapter and sometimes I meditate on a few verses.  It all depends on how God leads me.

One of the things I thought I'd struggle with is what to photograph.  I haven't had that problem.  Even with this project God seems to lead.  I'm thankful for that, and I'm thankful for this journey and for all of you who are on this journey with me.
