Our Halloween Party

So this last Saturday we had our annual Halloween Party.  To be honest it is just an excuse for us to have a few friends over, eat lots of snack food, talk, take pictures, and well, to just have a good time.  For those of you coming from Facebook, you've probably seen most of these pictures.

I carved two pumpkins for the party:

Ginger made cupcakes that were to die for (no pun intended!).

I remember when we found the little ghosts with candy corns in Michael's.  We just knew we had to have those.

And I have to include the house my Dad handmade on the mantle with a haunted light inside:

So the party was a concert theme.  I designed a T-shirt for this Halloween (like I did last year), and this one was for the band Pierced Heart on the Quarantine Tour (yes I was rather creative).  I made a tag for me, since I was the Lead Singer and I made a tag for Ginger, she was a groupie!  Here is the design of the tag:

On the back of the T-shirt I put the "tour dates" which are actually the dates I'd be wearing my costume:

10/26 Where I work
10/27 Our Home
10/31 Ginger's parents house.

We like small groups so there were a total of 5 of us at "The Crypt".  Here is a picture of me with my number one fan!

Here is a better picture without flash of Ging:

Here is a picture of Ginger's friends who came with Ginger:

And one of me with my good friend David:

And lastly of the pictures one of my favorite pictures of the night (the other was the photo at the top)

Just because I love candid shots when people don't know they are being photographed (and I was 3 foot away).

All in all it was a wonderful time with wonderful friends.  We laughed, we ate, and we got closer.  We took photographs and all in all had a blast.  Only one more tour date left and then we are done until next year's tour. And as Dee Synder on the House of Hair would say, Sit Down, Shut Up and Hold on, This is the House of Hair!   Rock On!

Picture and a Party

So this is a picture I took in the early morning hours before work last week.  Just saw the shot and since I take my camera to work, pulled it out.  The only problem, I had it set on JPEG only, not RAW and JPEG, so I didn't get a RAW file with it.  Photographers will know what that means.

So this week has been a plethora of emotions for me.  It has had some really big highs and a few lows, culminating with a very relaxing Sunday in which I've been able to charge up.  In fact I didn't even get on the computer till after 5.

The highs have been awesome.  Some really good news at work started my week off very well.  I do have the most wonderful boss and she is a joy to work for.  And my make ready partner, well, I've learned so much from her as well and most of my make ready experience at the apartments is from watching and helping her with the make readies.  The painting and dry wall, well, that is my baby.  When are people going to realize how tight the make ready team is?  If anyone has my back, my partner and my boss both do and I learned that this week, as well as my family.

I've been working the past three Saturday's, helping a friend out.  But it has wore me out physically and emotionally.  I could finally feel the strain this Saturday of just needing some down time.  So I've made it a point, and I really had to assert myself, to make sure next weekend is free for me.  I guess what really gets my goat, so to speak, is that with aggressive people when they have something they need done and I have something I want to do, how they try so hard to make their need more important than mine.  Guess what, my wife is more important.  It comes down to manipulation but they didn't bank on a well timed email from my parents and the wisdom they imparted.

Our Halloween Party will be on Saturday anyway and we always have a fun time preparing for it.  It's just a fun time of good food, games, and the House of Hair.   Yes, we like the fun part of Halloween.  It always ushers in the holiday's for us.  Maybe you don't like Halloween, that is your choice, for us, it is a fun time and an excuse to have a party with our close friends and me to dress up as a metal rocker.  And bonus, this week I get to carve pumpkins!  Our resident ghosts, Stephan and Spooky are getting excited!

This week is going to be one where I just take it easy.  Don't get me wrong, I will still go hard at work, but I'm going to go home and just relax with my wife and get ready for our party and bonus we have a party at work on Friday!  This will be a good week!  Thank you those of you who are praying for us, you know who you are!  And we feel your prayers!

The Jaws of Death!

Ninja mouse meets the jaws of death!  It took a little while to find the mouse because it was in a cubby hole where the pipes of the bathtub and shower open up into.  Like I said, Ninja mouse meets Sensei.  Of course the flies gave it away!

Okay, so my entry into a challenge on one of the photo groups I'm involved with on facebook is the following:

I've been so busy the past few weeks but I finally got to etch out a little time tonight to work on the challenge.

I received some wonderful replies from my last post, however, God really spoke through my Dad on the matter and helped by giving me wisdom.  That sweet, still, voice.

Thank you all for your prayers and comments.  Ginger and I are doing really good and I'm still amazed how wonderful and beautiful she is.  I'm truly blessed.
