Week 48: Ice Cream with Cranberries

So isn't it funny.  My Dad loves ice cream, my Mom loves pop corn.  So in our little home, I love ice cream and Ginger loves popcorn!  I got a little exotic with this concoction.  I had made candied cranberries actually with this in mind.  Vanilla ice cream with candied cranberries, dark chocolate syrup, and pecans.  It was fantastic.  Tart and sweet.  So naturally had to take a picture of it!  When did you eat that?  Ginger asked.  While you were napping I said.

So for those of you who do not know yet, we had to wait another week to get our Sophie.  The breeder preferred to keep her another week to put a little more weight on her.  We could have gone and taken her home, but we felt it best for Sophie.  Ginger talked with the breeder and we finally made the decision about 6pm on Friday.  From all the counsel we got over the issue, everyone was in agreement to wait.  However, we already have her stocking up!  This is going to be a very loved little puppy....

Okay, on to boy stuff (Bug Alert Mom!).  So walking outside yesterday I noticed this little fella hanging around on our steps:

This insect did not want to stay still!  Kayla and Nathan came out (they don't seem surprised anymore when they come out and I have my camera out) and Nathan wanted to know what I was taking a picture of!  He thought the bug was cool too, must be a guy thing!  Anyway, 11 shots later, it stayed still long enough for me to get this shot.  The one above is a closeup, here is the fuller shot:

My 100mm lens continues to be my workhorse lens.  I imagine that next week there are going to be pictures of Sophie!  And I am closing in on my second year of a 52 week challenge.  At the end of the year I will present some of my favorite shots of the year.  Thank you all for your support, encouragement, love and prayers.

Ginger is sipping on cinnamon tea and watching Hallmark and I am having fun playing with photos.  God is good.
